Alport's Syndrome affects some Colvin families
Alport's Syndrome is a genetically transmitted kidney disease that is carried by women, rarely affecting them badly, that is severe in the men it afflicts. Some Colvin families related to Susannah Colvin, the daughter of Titus Colvin and Anna King, have been affected by this disease.
Are there any others of the Colvin family that have this family disorder? If so, please respond to Ida DeBock at idamarie@rocketmail.com, or at the following web pages to the University of Utah (where a study is being conducted):

inquiry about kidney disease
I don't kidney disease, but I know that my uncle Christopher Colvin Sufferes from his kidney's leaking fluid. I also have had multiple urinary problems my whole life, and have been diagnosed with stage one intersitiail cytitus. Which is like a infamation or ulcers in my bladder. I also know that my great-grandmother Evelyn (Harvey) Colvin has intersitial cystitus as well, but she married into the Colvin family, so that doesn't say much, but I also suffered from multiple infections in my urinary tract "bladder and kidney" as a child. I would get up to five or six a year or more. So my guess is that possibly it is genetic. So maybe there is some gene in the Colvin lines that are defected. But I am not sure if Im directly related to this line of Colvin's mentioned.
Hope I could Help,
Karen
