The Colvin Family History website is a project of the COLVIN genealogy mailing list, which has helped researchers to connect with one another and share genealogical information for over 12 years. The website itself has been around nearly that long. Chances are that you have found this website because you are looking for information about your Colvin relatives, or you are just curious about where the Colvins have come from. You have come to the right place!

The website has always been a good spot for visitors seeking general information about the Colvin family. We have pages that explain the Norman roots of the Colvins in the British Isles, the meaning of the family crest, and other bits and pieces of Colvin trivia. Now, with the change to a more interactive web presence, we will be able to offer family researchers a lot of useful tools, such as forums, blog space and a place for you to upload and maintain your genealogy right on the website. These free services will be added to the site over the course of the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

The COLVIN mailing list, which is open to anyone who has an interest in Colvin family research, is the source for finding specific information about your own family. The list is made up of around 170 researchers representing the major Colvin family lines in North America, There are also a limited number of researchers from other parts of the world where Colvins have been found.
